A natural-looking way to improve the shape, colour and position of your teeth.
A veneer is a thin, custom-made moulding used to cover the front surface of a tooth, usually made from porcelain. Veneers can address stained, chipped, misshapen or crooked teeth, as well as fill gaps where orthodontics may not be suitable.
The dentist shaves away a minimal amount of enamel matching the veneer's thickness. An impression is then taken of the mouth, which is given to a dental technician to build your bespoke veneer to the required shape and size.
The veneer is tested for imperfections before placement. Adhesive is applied to its back surface, then a bright curing light is used to set it in place. The dentist verifies your bite and makes any adjustments needed. The colour of the veneer is matched to your other teeth to ensure a natural look.
Veneers should last many years but can chip or crack like natural teeth. We recommend regular dental visits for maintenance; small chips may be repairable, or the veneer can be replaced. Local anaesthetic may be provided during tooth preparation to prevent discomfort.
