Missing Teeth

Replacement options to restore your bite, comfort and confidence.

Why Replace a Missing Tooth

Beyond aesthetic concerns, a gap left by a missing tooth can mean greater strain is put on the teeth at either side and may affect your bite. It can also lead to food getting packed into the gap, which causes both decay and gum disease.

Your Options

We offer two primary approaches: a removable false tooth or teeth (a partial denture) or a fixed bridge. Bridges work best when replacing fewer teeth, or teeth on one side of the mouth.

Partial Dentures

A partial denture is a plate with a number of false teeth on it, which may be plastic or a metal-and-plastic combination with clips for retention.

We recommend a brush, soak, brush routine: remove your denture nightly and store it in water. For stability concerns, denture adhesive paste or strips, or implants, can provide additional support.

Professional fabrication involves multiple visits for impressions and measurements, a trial fitting with adjustments, and permanent tooth placement by dental technicians.

All treatments are subject to a clinical assessment and may not be suitable for everyone. Please speak to the dentist to discuss what is right for you.
