About Us
Finding a dentist you can trust is no easy task. At Southwoods Dental Practice, Yeovil, we are committed to a service where each patient feels well looked after and cared for.
Finding a dentist we can establish a trusting relationship with is no easy task. We all want gentle, unhurried dentistry delivered in a caring and professional way. Good quality, affordable dental care in a pleasant, comforting and friendly environment should be the norm, not the exception.
At Southwoods Dental Practice, Yeovil, we are committed to providing all of this: a service where each patient feels well looked after and cared for. We welcome the whole family and offer a bespoke dental service, putting you and your needs first and foremost. In all proposed dental treatments we take account of your own wishes, fully explaining the options and costs so you can make an informed choice best suited to your needs.
B.Sc., B.Ch.D. (Stell), Principal Dentist, GDC no. 71211
I qualified as a dentist in 1995 at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. Since graduating I have worked as a general dental practitioner in the UK. I've lived and worked in North London, Norwich, Sheringham and the Falkland Islands. In 2008 we came across Southwoods Dental Practice, a fortunate find that brought us to Somerset, where we settled. We haven't looked back since, and hope to serve the local community for many more years to come.
Dental Hygienist, GDC no. 2920
Jane qualified as a Dental Hygienist at University College London in 1985 and has been part of the team at Southwoods for the last 25 years.
Receptionist
I joined the team at Southwoods Dental in June 2022 as receptionist, and I am really enjoying getting to know all of our patients. My previous experience in dentistry was as a qualified dental nurse, working many years in general practice and in an NHS maxillofacial unit in oral surgery. I hold a Level 4 qualification in Health Care Studies and a Level 3 Health Trainer qualification, and previously worked in NHS Health Promotion. I endeavour to make every contact a positive one and pride myself on the level of attention and communication I offer to our patients.
Patient Charter
Our Patient Charter is a statement of how our dental practice operates and the standards of care that we apply to all our patients. It defines our responsibilities, and also your responsibilities to us as a patient.
Should a patient fail to attend two appointments, or fail to give more than 24 hours notice of cancellation (unless there is an acceptable reason) on two occasions, a failure-to-attend fee will be charged, so that the appointment can be offered to another patient. Any violent or abusive behaviour will result in immediate withdrawal from the practice. See our Practice Policies page for our full complaints procedure.
Call the practice or send us a message and we will be in touch to arrange your visit.
