Replacing one or more missing teeth by anchoring to the natural teeth alongside.
Bridges replace one or more missing teeth by fixing the replacement teeth to the surface of the natural teeth on each side of the gap. They can be made from metal, porcelain or hybrid materials, with customised colouring to match your surrounding teeth.
Sufficient strong teeth with adequate bone support are necessary prerequisites. Your dentist will determine the most appropriate replacement method for your individual circumstances.
The process involves taking an initial impression, which technicians convert into plaster models. The supporting teeth are then prepared, followed by a second impression for the final bridge. A temporary restoration may be placed during fabrication. Once complete, the bridge is fitted and adjusted for proper bite before permanent fixation.
A minimum three-month waiting period is typically required after extraction, though healing may take up to six months. We can suggest temporary options during this interval.
All treatments are subject to a clinical assessment and may not be suitable for everyone. Please speak to the dentist to discuss what is right for you.
